How it works

LearnEach lesson is short and self-contained — read it in one sitting, on any device.
CheckA quiz closes every lesson, so you find out whether it landed before moving on.
Keep goingYour progress is saved as you go. No schedule, no deadline, no live class to attend.

What makes this different from a card-meanings list

Most free tarot resources give you 78 definitions and leave you there. Knowing that The Tower means upheaval does not tell you what it means next to the Three of Cups, in the position of "what you are not seeing".

This course spends four chapters on the Major Arcana, one on each suit, and then nine lessons on reading the cards together — spreads, combinations, storytelling. The last chapters go where most courses stop: the sixteen court cards, advanced layouts, the differences between Marseille, Rider-Waite-Smith and Thoth, and the Kabbalistic structure underneath the deck.

The two final chapters are reference sheets for all 78 cards — built to be opened mid-reading, not read front to back.

Honestly: what it costs, and what it is not

Standalone tarot courses are typically sold as one-off purchases. Prices we found while writing this page: the International Tarot Foundation certification at $375, Little Red Tarot's Alternative Tarot Course on a $36–$164 sliding scale, and The Magickal Path's individual courses between $20 and $100.

Price$164–375, one-off$49 one-off, or $9.99/month with everything else
PaceOften cohort-basedEntirely your own
At the endA certificateNo certificate — the skill, and the reference sheets

There is no certification here, and we would rather say it plainly. If a recognised credential is what you need in order to practise professionally, go to a certifying body. If what you want is to actually read the cards — for yourself, for friends, eventually for others — that is what these 209 lessons are for.

Questions

How long does it take?

209 lessons across 24 chapters, with no schedule and no deadline. Your progress is saved, so you can do one lesson a day or a whole chapter in an evening.

Do I need to know anything to start?

No. It opens with what the Major Arcana is and why a 78-card deck is built the way it is — and it goes all the way to the court cards, advanced spreads and the Tree of Life, so it stays useful well past the first weeks.

Is it available in French?

Yes — the full course exists in French too, with 211 lessons.

Do I need to own a tarot deck?

It helps a great deal, and any deck works. The course uses the Rider-Waite-Smith imagery as its common reference, then covers Marseille and Thoth in their own chapter.

What else does Premium include?

The course is part of Wooly Premium, which also unlocks unlimited readings and the rest of the site. See the pricing page for everything included.
