A volcanic glass formed by fast-cooling lava, obsidian was once used to make blades and mirrors. Mesoamerican peoples made it into scrying mirrors — hence its nickname, “mirror of the soul”.
For sincere inner work, cutting heavy ties, or protecting yourself deeply.
Hold it during introspection or honest journaling, keep it close in times of big change — but take breaks: it’s an intense stone. What matters isn't the stone itself, but the attention it invites you to bring to yourself: a crystal is an intention you hold in your hand.
Cleanse it under running water for a few minutes or with smoke (sage, palo santo), then recharge it overnight under the full moon or on a quartz cluster.
