What a weekly horoscope is — and what it is not

A weekly horoscope is not a forecast. Nobody can read your week from your birth month alone: a sun sign is one line of a chart that has dozens. What a weekly reading can do is narrower and more useful — it names a theme, and a theme is something you can test against your own week.

So read it the way you would read a friend saying “watch out for that thing you keep avoiding”. If it lands, it lands because you already knew. If it does not, nothing was predicted and nothing was lost.

How this one is written

Wooly writes the twelve messages in one sitting, once a week, so that they belong to the same week rather than being twelve unrelated notes. They go up on Sunday morning for the week that starts on Monday, which is why the page changes on a Sunday and not on a Monday.

Each message is two or three sentences. That is deliberate. A weekly reading that runs to five paragraphs has stopped saying anything specific and started describing everyone at once.

How to actually use it

• Read yours first, then your rising sign. If you know your ascendant, its message is often the one that fits your outer week — work, people, visible events.
• Read it once, on Sunday or Monday. Re-reading mid-week turns a theme into a rule, which is the opposite of the point.
• Keep the sentence that stings a little. That is usually the one you came for.
• Ignore the rest without guilt. A general reading that fits every part of your life would be flattery, not astrology.

When does the weekly horoscope update?

Sunday morning, for the week running Monday to Sunday. If you open the page on a Sunday you are already reading the week ahead.

Do I read my sun sign or my rising sign?

Both, if you know them. Traditionally the rising sign describes the week as it happens around you, and the sun sign describes how it feels from inside. If you only know one, read that one.

Is it free?

Why is it so short?

Because a sun sign only supports so much. For something that is actually about you — your chart, your year, your timing — you need your birth date, and that is a different kind of reading.

Can a horoscope predict what will happen?

No, and anything that claims to should be read with suspicion. These are offered for reflection and entertainment. What they can do is give you a word for something you were already circling.
