No mystique, no smoke: exactly how a reading is made, what the cards are, where the AI fits — and where it stops.
Magical Chart pairs the traditional symbolism of tarot with modern AI to create a calm, interactive space for reflection. It's not a prediction machine and it isn't content churned out automatically — here's the whole process, step by step, so you know exactly what you're using.
The raw material is the classic Rider–Waite tarot: 78 cards — the 22 Major Arcana (the big archetypal life themes, from The Fool to The World) and the 56 Minor Arcana, organised into four suits covering the everyday textures of feeling, action, thought and matter. Every card carries centuries-old symbolism that has been interpreted across generations. Here, those meanings are used as mirrors for reflection — prompts that help you look at your own situation from a new angle, not fixed messages about what will happen.
You pick what fits the moment. A quick daily tarot reading to set the tone, a love spread when the heart is loud, a career spread at a crossroads — or you can simply ask Wooly a personal question in your own words. Each reading draws the number of cards that suits the spread, laid out in positions that each carry a meaning (past / present / advice, and so on).
When it's time to read the cards, the AI — Wooly — is what turns their traditional meanings into a personalised explanation, written for you rather than a generic definition. Its job is to help you explore perspectives, questions and reflections inspired by the cards. It does not predict events, and it has no hidden knowledge about your life or your future.
"I don't see your future — no one does. I take what the cards traditionally mean and reflect it back against what you told me, so you can think more clearly." 🐑
Here's what actually happens once your cards are drawn. Wooly combines three things: the traditional meaning of each card, the position it landed in, and the context you chose to share — your question and any personal detail. It weaves those into a reading that speaks to your situation instead of reciting a stock definition. Nothing here is pre-written or pulled from a fixed library: each interpretation is generated fresh, on our side, at the moment you ask.
If you want the fuller philosophy behind these lines, it lives on our approach page.
Readings feel personal because you can add a first name, a birth date or a question — that context is what lets Wooly tailor the words.
